Even as we have worked to address climate change over the past decade, it is clear that even our most ambitious goals are not enough to stop dangerous climate trends. 

Living in the same city where you work fosters a critically important connection to the community and people you serve. Yet for firefighters, police officers, teachers, nurses and millions of other low- and moderate-income workers in urban areas, it can be a herculean challenge to find safe, affordable housing near where they work.

In January, Amalgamated took the opportunity to weigh in on a lawsuit filed in connection with New York City’s municipal ID card program (IDNYC).

This Tax Day, our federal government is going to be busy figuring out how to spend the roughly $3 trillion it collected in combined income and payroll taxes. Every year, lawmakers and officials allocate $4.2 trillion in spending money, much of which comes from the taxes collected from individuals and businesses.
