Customer Leadership

Molly Culhane serves as Senior Vice President for the Mid-Atlantic Region and is the National Director of Political Banking. She brings two decades of executive financial and operational leadership to Amalgamated Bank. Prior to joining the Bank, Molly served as the White House Chief of Operations Services in the Office of Administration for President Obama. Molly also served as the Deputy CFO for President Obama’s reelection campaign and as the founding CFO of Organizing for Action. Prior, she served for a decade at The Boeing Company as an analyst in the finance, national security, and space groups, along with serving as a financial analyst for Mitchell Madison Group in London. Molly has received a Bachelor of Science from University of Wisconsin – Madison and studied national security for a Masters’ in Public Policy and Administration at Northwestern University.

Mark joins Amalgamated from RIZE Massachusetts Foundation where he served as Director of External Affairs and Philanthropy. He previously served for six years in the State Department under Secretary of State Hilary Clinton as Deputy Chief of Protocol and later Acting Chief of Protocol. Mark has also held leadership positions in numerous Democratic political campaigns and local Massachusetts administrations. He received his J.D. and B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Boston University.

Sabrina Stratton currently serves as Senior Vice President, Northeast Regional Director. In this role, Sabrina is responsible for the leadership and management of the commercial bank in our Northeast Region. Prior to becoming Regional Director, Sabrina served as First Vice President, Commercial Banking, managing $1 billion in client assets and providing guidance for effective liquidity management. Prior to joining Amalgamated Bank, Sabrina took on roles of increasing responsibility at Wachovia Bank (acquired by Wells Fargo), SunTrust Bank, Arvest, and JP Morgan Chase. Sabrina holds a BSBA (Accounting) from Old Dominion University and is a Master of Science in Accountancy candidate. She has served as Amalgamated Bank’s head of the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color employee resource group. In addition, she is Treasurer for Women Creating Change and a board director for the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone.

Jonathan Taylor is the Senior Vice President and Western Regional Director at Amalgamated Bank. Jonathan guides Amalgamated Bank's Western operations, leveraging his expertise to navigate the intricate landscape of Commercial Lending with insight and tactical proficiency, ensuring the bank's sustained success in the region. He has a 14-year career centered on commercial lending within the banking sector. His expertise spans all facets of financial management, strategic planning, and customer relationship management in the commercial and corporate banking domain. Prior to joining Amalgamated Bank, Jonathan served as the Head of Commercial Lending at Community Vision, a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) based in San Francisco. Jonathan's experience in the banking industry includes key positions at Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank, and Union Bank.

With over 28 years in the financial industry, Eleanor has experience in key areas, most recently as the Director of Trust Operation Services at the Bank. Her career has spanned various roles in portfolio management, financial analysis, regulatory and compliance, and middle office operations. Prior to joining the team, Eleanor was a portfolio manager and equity analyst with Mutual of America Capital Management Corporation where she managed the firm’s global indexing strategies and worked on the investment team for their active investment strategies. She started her career at Nikko Global Asset Management. Eleanor came to the Bank to expand our investment management capabilities where she created new index investment strategies and built customized plans for clients, growing to over $5 billion in internally managed commingled trust funds and separately managed accounts. Eleanor has been integral in many of the bank’s important projects, especially in managing our partnership with Invesco and the Trust Modernization process. Eleanor oversees the fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities the bank possesses with its Trust powers, as well as the Trust Middle Office, Fund Performance, Sub -Advisor Oversight and Portfolio Management functions.

Bill was previously the Chief Credit Officer at New Resource Bank, and moved to New York in his new role as Senior Lending Officer after the merger in 2018. While at New Resource, Bill was a pioneer in developing the concept of sustainable lending, working with the Global Alliance of Banking on Values, B-Lab and other organizations to develop metrics and best practices around values based banking. At Amalgamated, he participated in the North American PCAF working group to develop an accounting method in which banks can measure the carbon output of their loans and investments. After a 30 year career in traditional commercial banking that began at Bank of America, he appreciates the opportunity to take the impact lending philosophy to a national platform at Amalgamated.

Jim brings more than 25 years of banking experience to the Director of Retail Banking where he's responsible for consumer banking, personal investing and residential mortgages. During his tenure at Amalgamated he has greatly enhanced the efficiency of our residential lending platform and significantly expanded our lending base while growing our mission-aligned partnerships. Prior to Amalgamated, Jim accrued 12 years in leadership positions managing teams in mortgage services. Throughout his career he has spearheaded innovative projects that pushed companies forward including the launch of new divisions, developing pricing engines and a wholesale platform, integration to paperless software systems, and the advancement of new credit policies.

Joe joined Amalgamated Bank in 2012 and leads our Commercial Client Services team, providing high touch, day to day servicing for our clients. In addition to focusing on the client experience, Joe also oversees the commercial operations and audit processes. Prior to joining the Commercial Banking team, Joe led numerous branches within the Amalgamated retail network servicing both consumer and business clients. Before Amalgamated, Joe held various positions at Astoria Bank, primarily managing multiple branches in the retail network.

Gillian is a seasoned banker with over 30 years of retail experience, starting her career as a part-time teller and working her way up the ladder. Gillian entered into a Management Training Program at City and Suburban and graduated as a Branch Manager. Gillian started at Amalgamated as Branch Manager of our Coop City location in February 2008. She quickly stepped into leadership roles managing the Northeast branch network, overseeing the operations of 31 branches in the Greater New York Metropolitan area. As the Bank has expanded into more parts of the country, Gillian’s leadership has expanded to support teams in DC, California, and our Online National Bank. In addition to the retail network, Gillian recently began managing the call center channel of the bank, helping customers feel connected to their financial institution while learning about and growing their banking relationship.

Jacob Nimmer is the Senior Vice President and Director of Commercial Real Estate at Amalgamated Bank. He manages the Amalgamated Bank CRE teams in New York, Washington, D.C., Boston, and San Francisco. Prior to joining the Bank in 2022, Jacob spent more than a decade at M&T Bank as a relationship manager. Jacob has originated more than $1.5bn of loans during his career and cultivated CRE relationships with existing and new customers, delivering tailored financing solutions. Jacob holds a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from George Washington University and a M.A. in Real Estate from New York University.

As the Director of Amalgamated Investment Services, Rob has developed a socially responsible investment product line that aligns with the Bank’s mission and our customer’s desire to do good with their money. Rob acts as a Financial Advisor for many of the bank’s individual and commercial customers. Rob joined Amalgamated Bank in 2011, coming from Astoria Federal Savings Bank where he worked as a Licensed Banker for 5 years.
