If the amount of the penalty exceeds the amount of the accrued interest, we will deduct the excess penalty amount from the principal balance. Please be advised that a request to close a Certificate of Deposit may take up to two business days following the day of request for all new customers. No withdrawals will be allowed during this time. A new customer is considered new if each customer on the account has not had a prior relationship with the bank within the last 30 calendar days.
