Consumer - You can visit your local branch to send a domestic wire transfer. Wire transfers are not available on online banking and mobile app at this time.

Commercial and Small Business - You can send wire transfers from the online banking platform (AOTM). For an interactive guide on how to send a wire transfer, you can click on the “Show Me Tutorials” in AOTM for step-by-step instructions.

To send domestic wires you will need the following information: 

  • Bank Name
  • Bank ID (ABA/RTN)
  • Recipient’s Account Number
  • Recipient’s Full Name
  • Recipient’s Address

To send international wires you will need the following information: 

  • Bank Name
  • Bank ID (SWIFT/BIC or IBAN)
  • Intermediary/Correspondent bank name 
  • Recipient’s Account Number
  • Recipient’s Full Name
  • Recipient’s Address

Certain countries will require you to provide a purpose of payment.

To receive domestic wires, provide the following information to the person or business sending the wire: 

Bank Name: Amalgamated Bank
Bank ID (ABA/RTN): 026003379
Bank Address: 275 Seventh Ave, NY, NY 10001
Beneficiary Account Number: Your Amalgamated Bank account number
Beneficiary Name: The name of your account as it appears on your statement
Beneficiary Address: The address of your account as it appears on your statement

To receive international wires, provide the following information to the person or business sending the wire:

Receiving Bank Name: The Bank of New York Mellon
Receiving Bank Address: 240 Greenwich St, New York, NY
SWIFT/BIC Code: IRVTUS3N

Beneficiary Account Number: 8901655740
Beneficiary Name: Amalgamated Bank
Beneficiary Address: 275 Seventh Avenue New York, NY. 10001


Originator to Beneficiary Information: "For further credit to: [The name of your account as it appears on your statement, your Amalgamated Bank account number]"

The Society for Worldwide International Financial Telecommunications is a network that allows banks to facilitate the transfer of money to banks in different countries. The SWIFT code is a unique identification code that may be required by other financial institutions.

For domestic wires submitted by 6:00pm EST and international wires submitted by 5:00pm EST, the Bank will send the wire same day. For wires submitted after the cutoff time, the Bank will send the wire next business day. 

Depending on the recipient’s country and bank’s processing times, the delivery time for international wires might vary.

There is no limit for consumer clients to send a domestic wire transfer. You can send any amount available in your account.

Small Business clients have a daily wire limit of $100,000 to send domestic and international wires.

Commercial clients set daily wire limits based on their request during wire enrollment in an online banking platform (AOTM). For more information, please contact your Account Executive.  

Wire transfers cannot be canceled after they are submitted.

Amalgamated's corresponding bank for international wire transfers is Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon). A correspondent bank is a third-party bank that provides services on behalf of other bank in another country.

For our clients to receive incoming international wires, please provide funders from overseas our Amalgamated Bank Wire Instructions or contact your account executive for further information about wire transfers.
